Process
Our assessments are tailored to your individual needs and always include an initial intake session to collect relevant history, a feedback session, and a comprehensive report once the assessment has been completed.
Understanding
your Child
To ensure a holistic picture of your child, parents/guardians complete checklists and questionnaires, and an educator who knows your child well also provides input. Individual assessments are completed in the clinic, with observations often carried out in the educational setting for pre-school and primary school-aged students.
Assessment Fees
and Billing
For assessment clients, a deposit will be taken at the time of booking, the final balance is due prior to your final feedback session, and reports will be released once all fees have been paid.
To ensure a comprehensive assessment is completed for your child, a number of steps are involved.
All assessments include a detailed initial interview to obtain relevant background history and understand current patterns of behaviour and identified questions or concerns.
Following this, the assessment process is tailored to each child specifically according to the referral reason. This includes collecting information from a variety of sources, typically parents/guardians and educators, via interview and the completion of questionnaires and checklists, and typically also includes direct observation and formal assessment with your child. Exactly what is required will be discussed with you when arranging your first appointment and will be confirmed during your initial interview. From time to time, your Psychologist may identify additional areas requiring further assessment, which will be discussed with you and a quote for services provided.
Following all assessments a feedback session is held to discuss findings and recommendations, and a comprehensive formal report is provided.
Assessment fees are set based upon the number of hours required to complete assessment activities, as well as the resources involved in completing the comprehensive assessment. A quote will be provided to you for services prior to your initial interview and an initial payment will be taken at the time of booking, with the final balance being due prior to your final feedback session. Reports will be released once all fees have been paid.
